I started to reblog a black-and-white shot of this scene, but then I thought about how this movie is shot in such glorious Technicolor—it was Fellini’s first color film, thus he went whole hog on the concept—so it’s a shame to diminish it into mere black and white. While 8½ is still my favorite Fellini film, Juliet of the Spirits is a very close second; “visually intoxicating” is the only way I can describe it.
