In 1985 I was compiling top ten lists of actors I fancied instead of paying attention in Chemistry. Buying records and swooning over boys in bands. Wondering what to do with my life. Making clothes because I couldn’t find things I liked. Reading nineteenth century novels and crime fiction. And comics. Finding most people confusing or not sympatico. In love with Doctor Who. Wanting to write and paint. Worrying about boys. Wanting to be a highwayman.
NO ONE TOLD ME THAT IN THE DISTANT FUTURE I WOULD BE EXACTLY THE SAME.
