Tonight I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind for the very first time. Given that this is my niece Amy’s favorite film and I adore Michel Gondry’s previous work, I really should have seen it a long time ago.
I was texting with le bf when I started watching it, and we agreed that our first date was far less awkward. At the end, I kept thinking, “Man! I’m so glad I’m not nearly that neurotic and high-maintenance!” (re: Kate Winslet’s character), but overall, I liked it.
I definitely wouldn’t want to eradicate any part of my memory—even the parts that still hurt the most—because those things are all part of who I am today. It’s been fifteen years since I had arguably my most painful romantic experience (or at least the one I spent the most time trying to medicate), & even though I could have done without the anguish & despair, if Deb hadn’t gone through that experience with me, we might not have developed the close friendship I so treasure today, so see? Always an upside.
What did y’all think of the movie, whenever you saw it?
Coming to Tumblr was probably one of the best things for me. It was like seeing a whole new group of people that have the same state of mind as you. And that’s why I appreciate all of the people I’m following, and all of my followers. Thank you.

D’awww…and we owe it all to David Morrissey, because he had mentioned in an interview how his son had gotten him into the Boosh & that’s why I started watching it (though being British & thus compared to Python meant I was already interested) . He’s also why I’m going to watch The Walking Dead, for that matter—though my niece tells me it’s awesome, I shy away from anything involving violence and zombies that isn’t Shaun of the Dead. LE SIGH.

I vote for being really careful with his clothes. Although it would be funny if he came to England with only the shirt on his back, plus seven other identical ones. Also, they are really taking the gray hair/mustache a little too far even for my taste.

I was delighted that the restored!Blimp has sorted out older Theo’s face: on my dvd he looks like he’s fallen face first into a vat of talc (as you can see in these caps). So, hurrah! for Marty and his felt tip pens.
I feel there must be a significance in ‘40 Theo wearing a collar bar and ‘42 Theo not. (Is a collar bar more European?) You can still see the holes in the shirt if you look closely

I have now seen a medical professional and do indeed have a concussion, as well as a massive muscle strain across my upper back. I’m holding off on taking the pain meds until it gets really bad again but am happy to know that I’m not going to die from my own simple inability to look where the fuck I’m going.

That warm fuzzy feeling when you find out that two people you follow (and also follow you) but from two different fandoms or what not actually follow each other also!
Tumblr… can be such a heart warming happy place!
I love that! I just had that happen here recently with blissed-and-gone and gorgonetta, who I know from utterly unrelated fandoms, but finding out they follow each other too was total *happydance* time for me.
Theda Bara, positioning herself neatly into a tight, cornered area in what appears to be a fancy crypt.
Her cool demeanor and subtly raised eyebrow could indicate that she is in fact lying in wait to pounce on unsuspecting prey, but it could also be construed as a challenge, for while the Goth Diva uses corners and tight corridors in times of distress, the Vamp Fatale has mostly been observed using such places from which to strike at her foes from the shadows. Is this a ‘come at me, bro, and be devoured’ situation? We may never know, as none of our researchers were quite brave enough to sidle up and ask.
This does actually raise the question of whether Theda Bara was the first goth-in-corridor, although she seems perfectly at ease with the situation, unlike Peter Murphy. I’m guessing that male-identified goths may find corridors a greater challenge, which leads us to: why the hell would they go down the damn corridors, then? Are they hoping to find Theda Bara? Is it just their innate longing for annihilation in action?
You guys kill me. XD
