I was telling vplaid about how my mom somewhat inexplicably put gauzy purple curtains here in what was then considered the guest bedroom (but now has reverted back to being my room); however, they lend a nice touch to one of my favorite photos of my grumpy old lady Beezer, a.k.a. Johanna Vachon Vanbiesbrat, Her Irascibleness, Pretty Girl, etc.

I loved Not Quite What I Was Planning, that book about six-word autobiographies, and one for la Beez practically wrote itself:
Blissful Momish solitude, then THEY came.

She’s never forgiven me for bringing other cats into the house.

Another naughty-but-nice item from my niece’s collection; c’mon, haven’t you always wanted chain-mail undies made of sterling silver and freshwater pearls? As her business has been doing remarkably well, my niece doesn’t need me to pimp her stuff here (in fact she doesn’t even know that I’m doing this)—I just wanted to show off her work because of how immensely proud I am of her. When she first started doing beadwork as a kid, I know neither of us ever could have imagined she would ever be able to actually make a living out of it.

Though I’ll probably post a few more purple items, this is pretty much the end of the line, color-spam-wise. It’s been exhausting but fun posting all these photos—hopefully you all had some fun too!

And jewelry is implied as well if we’re talking about weddings; this is some of my niece’s work. As she puts it, she makes jewelry for the “I could never pierce that!” crowd; I’m not sure, but I think this might be one of the nipple rings, which just fit snugly around the nipple with no nasty-ouchy piercing parts. She also makes lotus clips, which are explained there at her blogspot page and provide lovely decoration for a part of the body I definitely prefer to remain unpierced.

In any case, I love the way she’s been able to use her artistry and creativity to make an actual profit, and luckily for this color spam, she uses lots of purple beads, too. :)
